Novak has reinvented the HV Brushless System Series since it was released in 2006. The series now includes four motor winds, new programming, a MOSFET upgrade and a design makeover. The HV Pro Brushless System is made up of the new generation of rugged HV Brushless Motors with 5mm Shafts and specially designed HV Pro High-Voltage Brushless ESC that work seamlessly together to provide the ideal system for high-voltage applications. The new HV Systems were specifically developed by Novak for R/C cars, and are ideal for monster trucks - such as the Traxxas¢ç E-Maxx¢â, Traxxas¢ç E-Revo¢â, HPI¢ç E-Savage¢â and Kyosho¢ç Twin Force¢â-- converted electric 1/8-scale vehicles and vehicles with massive power needs.
HV PRO SYSTEM WINDS Novak's HV Pro Brushless Systems with 5mm Shafts are available in four motor winds:
- HV Pro Brushless System 4.5T with 5mm Rotor (Kv=5,000; Watts=890) is best used for short, high-speed runs (#3024).
- HV Pro Brushless System 5.5T with 5mm Rotor (Kv=3,700; Watts=800) has superb control, and excels in racing and bashing applications (#3025).
- HV Pro Brushless System 6.5T with 5mm Rotor (Kv=3,400; Watts=730) is the best all-around-motor with a great balance between power and run time. It also shines in racing and bashing applications (#3026).
- HV Pro Brushless System 7.5T with 5mm Rotor (Kv=3,000; Watts=620) has incredibly smooth power delivery, making it the easiest to drive, and is recommended for users looking for the longest possible run times (#3027).
HV BRUSHLESS MOTORS WITH 5MM SHAFTS In addition to its already impressive features, including awesome starting torque, low-speed driveability, and no cogging for smooth acceleration and smooth braking, the HV Series of motors (#3524-3527) has been fitted with a rugged 5mm output shaft for maximum resilience and race life. The HV Series is ideal for monster trucks, converted electric 1/8-scale vehicles and vehicles requiring massive power output. Additionally, the motors are sensor-based, so they always know the position of the rotor, which provides excellent starting torque and continuous synchronization for smooth, controlled low-speed driveability and consistent brakes. Simply stated, it means no uncontrolled bursts of power or delays! HV-Series of motors also features a shielded sensor cable with sheathed sensor wires and a completely rebuildable design.
HV PRO BRUSHLESS/BRUSH ESC Completing the HV Pro Brushless System is the fully programmable HV Pro ESC, which can accommodate 6-14 Ni-Cd/Ni-MH cells (7.2-16.8 volts) or 2S-4S Li-Po and can be wired for dual or single battery packs. This high-power, reversible brushless speed control is also easy to install and operate. The HV Pro uses the same screw pattern as the Traxxas¢ç E-Maxx¢â, Traxxas¢ç E-Revo¢â, HPI¢ç E-Savage¢â and Kyosho¢ç Twin Force¢â, making it convenient to install, and it includes a Power-Boost ESC Cooling fan kit and factory-installed motor heat sink for superior cooling.In addition, the HV Pro High-Voltage Brushless ESC includes many of the same great features found in high-quality Novak ESCs, such as One-Touch Set-Up, Thermal Overload Protection, a powerful BEC, Polar Drive and Digital Anti-Glitch circuitry and Smart Braking II.
Novak has also done away with the external Li-Po module with the inclusion of the built-in, auto-detect Smart-Stop Li-Po Cut-Off Circuitry*. When active, the Cut-Off Circuitry automatically switches to the proper Li-Po cut-off voltage for the connected battery packs, preventing the batteries from going below the critical safety voltage level.
The HV Pro ESC¡¯s makeover doesn¡¯t end there. In addition, the ESC has been updated with black heat sinks for better heat transfer and a new case label. You won¡¯t mistake this high-voltage system with any other!
HV PRO PROGRAMMABILITY In addition to the upgrade to full programmability, Novak¡¯s HV Pro High-Voltage Brushless ESC (#3221) has three throttle profiles – two with reverse and one with forward/brake. Each throttle profile has on-board programming for extreme versatility and unmatched customization for Minimum Brake, Drag Brake, Dead Band, Minimum Drive, Throttle Curve, Brake Frequency, Brake Disable, Motor Rotation and Li-Po Cut-Off. These programming features make operating an R/C car as easy as One-Touch set-up. Novak¡¯s new Throttle Curve adjustment allows drivers to tailor the throttle response, creating either a quick burst of power with the Linear Curve setting, or a smoother, controlled low-end power delivery with the Expo Curve setting.

GEARS To mesh with the HV Brushless Motor¡¯s rugged 5mm output shaft, Novak also offers two series of precision steel pinion gears. Novak¡¯s 5mm Mod 1 Hardened Steel Pinion Gears (#5100-5110) are recommended for Novak¡¯s 1/8-scale Conversion Kits (#5010-5019), and Novak¡¯s 5mm 32-Pitch Steel Pinion Gears (#5152-5157) are recommended for powering monster trucks that use a 32-pitch plastic spur gear.
Like all Novak brushless systems, the brushless speed control and brushless motor are factory wired and tested together, so they are ready to ¡°plug and play¡± straight out of the box.
